ColorQube - Breakthrough Xerox multifunction printer cuts cost of colour pages by up to 62 percent; reduces waste by 90 percent

25 / 06 / 2009

Xerox has announced the world?s first high-speed solid ink multifunction system, which cuts the cost of colour pages by up to 62 percent(according to Gap Intelligence) compared to traditional colour lasers without compromising print quality.

The environmental advantages of the Xerox ColorQube? 9200 Series multifunction system are compelling. The system uses Xerox?s proprietary solid ink technology to lower the environmental impact of office printing. The cartridge-free design generates 90 percent(according to Xerox research) less supplies waste and significantly reduces the effects of manufacturing and transportation on the environment.

The multifunction system prints, scans and copies all in one device with advanced technology that simplifies use and maintenance. The crayon-like ink sticks are non-toxic and easy to load.

The ColorQube 9200 series will be offered with a Hybrid Colour pricing plan that significantly reduces colour page costs. The Hybrid Colour plan eliminates traditional ?one size fits all? pricing, where the cost of a page with full colour, like printing a photo image, is the same as the cost of a page with just a little bit of colour, such as a company logo on a letterhead.
With the ColorQube?s Hybrid Colour plan, customers pay only for the amount of colour they use on a given page. For example, an office document with a logo and small graphic will cost the same as if it were printed in black.

The ColorQube 9200 Series will be available in three models with different colour speeds. Each has four print heads that can jet more than 150 million drops of ink per second, enabling speeds from 38 pages per minute (ppm) up to 85ppm. The series also meets the rigorous new ENERGY STAR? requirements.

The ColorQube 9200 series represents printing technology that is very timely for today?s office - going green and saving money while adding colour as needed is what customers are looking for and these products will be available from KPS during September 2009.
